All NQTs in Essex and their induction tutors are provided with a range of support materials including a comprehensive Professional Development Portfolio. This document is closely linked to the TDA Career Entry and Development Profile (CEDP) and aims to:

• help you find out more about your new school and your new responsibilities
• help you identify and make the most of the strengths and experiences you bring with you
• support you and the school in the process of formulating and updating your induction support plan
• enable you to identify your achievements over the year and support the processes of statutory review and assessment
• provide evidence of the progress you make towards a successful completion of your induction year – and guide you toward your professional goals for the second year of teaching.

Your induction tutor will be your main source of help. They’ll show you how the school’s policies operate and support you through your induction period. We’ll also offer you excellent continuing professional development (CPD) courses. These are specifically designed to cover everything from classroom and behaviour management to teaching and organising ICT.
